Hello! My name is Emory Bailey; I am currently a sophomore studying Human Development and Family Science at Auburn University.I currently want to pursue a career as a marriage and family therapist. I am interested in helping families and children thrive emotionally, socially, and in their health. My main goal is to graduate and pursue a career where I have the opportunity to help others. I have over two-hundred service hours volunteering with different organizations that benefit children and teens with special needs, such as the United Cerebral Palsy’s Camp Smile in Mobile, Alabama, as well as 3 Circle Church’s SOAR Special Needs Ministry in Fairhope, Alabama. SERVICE LEARNING EXPERIENCE
My service learning experience has been with the Marriage and Family Therapy Lab; we watch and code real life therapy sessions on tape. This experience has made my passion for therapy grow, as it has opened my eyes to what a real life therapist actually does. Each patient and couple is different, and it is interesting seeing each couple grow as they continue to experience therapy.
